Art of non work

Art of non work

Voice of Nibbana

In the process of coaching a CEO, I saw him delegating his subordinate to do a work. Though getting the commitment from his subordinate to accomplish the task, he would not trust. The CEO believes in constant follow up till the work gets accomplished.

I saw him calling many times to check with the subordinate, whether the given task is in the right shape. His constant checking was creating a panic in the subordinate and intern the work was getting delayed.

This delay lead to a state were the CEO was making more call and more was the panic for the subordinate and more the  delay…………………..observing the situation I shared this story with the CEO

Once there was a Zen master he gave some precious seeds to few disciples and asked them to sow the seeds and reap the benefit. After a while all of them reported their seeds have sprouted and started growing.

One disciple   was upset and told the master, “I worked the most and did the most.  I am upset and drained, since none of the seeds I sow has sprouted.”

The Master asked, “What did you do”?

The disciple answered, “I sow the seeds. Others were lazy they did not even do any follow up till the seeds sprout. I am the only one, who dug the soil everyday to check whether the seeds have sprouted.”

Master answered you need to learn the art of not working for work to happen…………..
